DCC started supporting Kevin & Moselle in January 2024. Kevin & Moselle are missionaries through World Gospel Missions and serving in Kenya. They want to make a lasting impact for the kingdom of God through overseas medical work. The way they have been called to do it is through multiplication of OB/GYN doctors. Africa needs OB/GYN doctors to provide care for women and expectant mothers. Currently over 2/3 of all maternal deaths during childbirth occur on the African continent. There are only ~400 OB/GYN’s in all of Kenya to care for 10 million women; not nearly enough! The need for OB/GYNs is great, too great to be alleviated by simply the addition of one American mission doctor. The best way to make a lasting impact on the medical landscape of Africa is through multiplication of local doctors. This happens through providing training. African doctors who are trained in-country remain and practice in-country, and then can to go and train other local OB/GYNs. The vision of multiplication also extends to disciple-making. Doctors and their families are discipled through their training as followers of Christ, deepening their relationships with Christ through living out faith in community with other participants in the program. Graduates are prepared and sent to live their lives as disciple-makers, equipped and sent as agents of both physical and spiritual healing. To read more, go to https://www.journeywiththestarks.com/
