The Jesse Tree is a way of preparing for Advent by journeying through stories on Jesus’ family tree. Each day in Advent, read a Bible story about someone in Jesus’ family tree and hang an ornament (that the kids color) symbolizing that story on your Jesse tree. The tree can be a plant, a branch in a pot, fabric or your Christmas tree. As you decorate your tree, you will see how God prepared for Jesus to be born through the generations.
This tradition comes from the verses in Isaiah 11:1. A shoot shall come out from the stump of Jesse and a branch shall grow out of his roots. Jesse was the father of David, Israel’s greatest king. Jesus is a descendant from that line of David. He is the branch that God promised would grow from Jesse’s family tree. Each symbol represents a story from this family line and a step toward the birth of Jesus.

1) print off the devotional & ornaments to be colored HERE OR
2) contact Bethany and ask her to print them for you to pick up at church.
We will not print any off unless you contact Bethany due to it being several pages and we don’t want to be wasteful. BUT we would be very happy to print it off for anyone who asks, to help make it be less work for you.
