Cumberland Presbyterian Church of Nan Akou
The church in Nan Akou is central to daily life and community activities in Nan Akou. When Pastor Sheslaire first arrived in Nan Akou to start his ministries, the church was the first project he completed. He is starting with a simple tin structure with concrete floor, and will eventually build a permanent cement structure at a later date. For now the church building is adequately meeting their needs. In 2016 Hurricane Matthew destroyed the church and the current structure was built to replace it. Worship in Nan Akou happens five times a week. Sunday morning, Sunday evening, Wednesday evening, Thursday afternoon home visit worship, and Saturday evening. Many people are involved in the worship services. They takes turns leading and preaching. The church in Nan Akou is thriving and joyful. All are truly welcome.
