C3 Tribe Ministry – Strengthening the Body
Due to COVID-19 Tribes won’t be meeting this fall and winter. In lieu of Tribe gatherings, much smaller groups called “Huddles” will be meeting bi-weekly (in person or online) to discuss the readings from the church-wide Immerse Bible Reading Experience. Click HERE for more information!
At Decorah Covenant, we believe 1 Corinthians 12:27 when it tells us we are the Body of Christ. It’s not something we are working towards or something we aspire to be. It’s WHO we are.
Because this is true, we intentionally connect as unique and individual parts of that Body so that we might strengthen it (Ephesians 4:15-16). How do we do that? By doing what the parts of a healthy body do: caring for one another, sharing in joy and pain, and growing together (1 Corinthians 12:25-26).
At Decorah Covenant, the primary way we do this is through a multi-generational small group ministry we call C3 Tribes. A Tribe is made up of individuals, couples and families of all ages and life stages. Tribes meet twice monthly in someone’s home for a light dinner, fun and fellowship, a brief time of growing together in God’s Word, and prayer.
Three or four times during the school year our whole Body gathers for Body-Building nights. These events bring everyone together for a Keep-It-Simple Supper (KISS), a lively multi-generational activity, and lots of laughter and fun. And during the summer, we gather twice a month for DCC BBQs (Body-Building Quintessence!), a long-standing tradition that brings the Body together over a couple of grills for food and fellowship that keeps us connected during the busy summer months.
