Decorah Covenant Church is a six-year old church plant that has a passion for expanding God’s kingdom in Northeastern Iowa and beyond. We are a multi-generational church full of energy, life, children, families, and college students.

While we love our church community, and love worshiping our God and being involved in each other’s lives, we realize that church is not only about meeting our own needs but meeting the needs of those around us. This is why we seek to focus our energies outward as well as inward.

Motivated by the love of God, the mission of Decorah Covenant Church is to share the gospel through a dynamic and flourishing community of faith that is Christ-centered and biblically based in meaningful worship, encourages authentic Christian discipleship, and is empowered by the Spirit for ministries of compassion, mercy and justice. In short, we’re about loving God and others through following CHRIST, building COMMUNITY, and extending COMPASSION.

We are a diverse church. People with a wide variety of life experiences, faith traditions, and family histories are a part of our community. Rather than being scared of diversity, we celebrate it—because the kingdom of God transcends barriers of history, race, class, age, and gender.

We are affiliated with the Evangelical Covenant Church of America (see www.covchurch.org for more information), which is a protestant denomination that affirms the historic creeds of the Christian faith. The Evangelical Covenant Church has its roots in the pietistic renewal movements that took place in the Swedish Lutheran State Church in the mid-19th-century .

We are currently meeting for worship and classes at St. Benedict’s School, 402 Rural Avenue, Decorah. Our church office is located downtown at 308 W. Water Street (563-382-1342).
