Kearney, Missouri, Church Welcomes Midwest Conference Annual Meeting Delegates!
On April 28, 2006 , the Community Covenant Church of Kearney, Missouri, will warmly welcome delegates to the 120th Annual Meeting of the Midwest Conference of the Evangelical Covenant Church. We look forward to celebrating with you what God has and will do through our conference. Our theme – “Forward in Faith” – encourages us to look to the future with hope and confidence in our mission. A celebration worship service will be held back at Community Covenant at 7 p.m. The Saturday business meeting begins at 8:15 a.m. in Kearney , to be completed by 2 p.m.
Community Covenant Church has served in the Kansas City Northland since 1982. Our building was constructed in 1987, expanded in 1999, and we have recently purchased additional land, eagerly planning expansion to bring hope, health and holiness to our community through Jesus Christ.
Kearney is a growing town rich with colorful history. With convenient proximity to Kansas City , we are one of the fastest growing towns in the metro area. History buffs enjoy our notoriety for an infamous resident buried here named Jesse James. His family farm home near town is maintained as a national historic site with daily tours. An onsite museum displays notable artifacts from the days of the James and Younger gang. Not far from town is also Watkins Woolen Mill, a 19th century textile factory restored to its original working condition. Tours of the mill are available, and the surrounding state park makes for a nice outing.
We look forward to seeing you in April!
